Malta airshow listings.

Hi guys,

While looking for info on the net about a couple of crashed aircraft I have on file I came across this website and though you guys might like a look at it the address is http://www.aviationinmalta.com/page5.html

Looks like a rather good airshow listing. I would love to see a listing like that today. Ok so I do know a few airshows manage to get most of these aircraft at their shows sometimes but you got to admit it makes for good viewing.

Maybe if anyone was at one of these shows they could lets us share their memories of it.

Trumper I may have gotten you wrong but I think the word “Stick” and “wrong end of” come to mind with your statement.

The address I posted was for the listings of aircraft that attended the Malta airshows over those particular years.

The Accidents I refer to are on www.acia.co.uk and you will find that if you look at some of the phantoms that crashed in the 70s and 80s that a few have picture and details of them on the Malta site.

I am currently doing a little web trawling to find additional info and pictures of said aircraft.

Thats wierd, when i clicked on the link yesterday i saw a different page.It came up with loads of crashes in about 1952/3 era,i did’nt read it all but alot of crashes involved Meteors and other such types. It just seemed a huge amount of crashed aircraft in a short period of time.
I’ve just tried finding the links again and havent found them so far and it was’nt the acia .co one as far as i know. There were’nt ant photos just a list and brief description of plane type and country it originated from.
The reason i asked is it seemed to be a large amount of aircraft for a small island, hence asking about it being a dangerous place or time.
It was just a comment on numbers, seemed high,if i find the page i will link it. 🙂

AHH Found it,it is under the 50 years ago heading http://www.aviationinmalta.com/page27.html ,did’nt seem like a good year hence i asked about it being a dangerous enviroment or was this typical in the UK as well then.I assume alot of the technology may have been newish and not got used to.

Looking at all those aircraft crashes, was it particularly a dangerous place/time or is it just an indication of sheer quantities of flights and therefore the incidents would be higher?

Merlin3945

I will be attending the display in September 2005 and will certainly post some pics. Having not attended previously I don’t have any previous pics, however there ara tons of them on the Malta airshow site far better than I would have taken.
