According to sources close to us, several aircraft at Bruntingthorpe sustained damage during last nights high winds.
The gusts were strong enough to blow both the 747 and the Guppy through 90 degrees, luckily the 747 is parked away from the Cold War Jets, but the Guppy managed to collide with Jet Provost T.3 XM355 (the Silver one). The Iskra has also received some damage but apparently its only slight.
Will post again once I got more details.
Does anyone else know of any other collections that received damage from last nights winds?

This is some of the damage that occurred at Bruntingthorpe during the high winds. Jet Provost XM355 definitely came of worst for damage amongst the aircraft, although the Mystere came fairly close with the Guppy’s wing swinging over the top of it! The workbench has not faired well and looks like it may have to be cut up in situ as the Guppy has just ridden straight over it 😮

Sorry about the Guppy
Sorry to hear about the Guppy getting damaged (and the Provost). I thought it was a very well-presented exhibit when I visited Bruntinghthorpe.

Well looks like Iskra only suffered a slight dent to one of her flaps ..but the Guppy spun right round and did a fair bit of damage to the rear section of the Jet Provost. Not only that but a workplatform somehow has wedged its self under the Guppy and done some damage as well.

Clearly a good reason to always try to keep your aircraft parked into the prevailing wind…..sounds like the Bruntingthorpe ones were not.

I hope none of the damage can’t be repaired…

Ouch! Hope the damage is not too severe 🙁
