Sorry, I don’t have a photo to add here, but that Lodestar (N6371C) that crashed after the big CAF airshow at Midland, Texas in October 2004 looked really odd.
Is it just me, or had the nose been extended? If so, was this a military modification or was it carried out by an airline or something? I notice large windows had been added into the fuselage too which I’m sure won’t be military mods.
The colour scheme it wore was also very odd. It was mostly bare metal and wore D-Day stripes (which I assume were added just for the D-Day themed airshow). But it had an RAF camouflage tail with RAF finflshes and yet a Stars and Bars roundel. Was it undergoing a paint scheme change at the time?
Was this the Lodestar the CAF used to have painted up like an RAF Hudson?

Dave
The CAF Lodestar painted to represent a Hudson is N30N, a different aeroplane.

Hi Dave,
It was a Howard Converssion with the extend nose, the plane at one time was painted in RAF Desert Camo.
