Requested the MOVIE ‘The Dam Busters’ for X mas but with so many titles out there to select from on the subject my folks picked me up a video entitled ‘The Dambusters Raid’, a 48 minute documentary with some interesting footage on it of all the drops of bouncing bombs from Lancs and Mossies and a particularly horrific scene of what looks to be an A-26 getting hit by it’s own bouncing bomb and going down nose first….the documentary actually has the temerity to ask whether the raid was a success or not all these years later….an interesting documentary, has anyone else seen it?

Yeah, this also featured a bunch of black and whit e modern day footage of the BBMF Lanc buzzing around meant to look ‘old’ , don’t know if it had the ‘Dam Busters’ movie footage in it or not, some stuff looked like it….think it was the same one.

I don’t know if it is the same one I’ve seen but I think Channel 4 showed it as part of their ‘Secret History’ series. IIRC the germans were also claiming it was just a glorified terror attack and didn’t affect them in any significant form.
It also showed a Lanc getting its elevator ripped off because it was too low at release of the bomb and ‘never seen before’ footage of a test of the real upkeep mine. There were also clips from The Dam Busters movie in it.
