Hi folks, me again. Does anyone know of any good sources on the detailed markings (ie stencilling) found on the Sunderland Mk.V in British service? We have plenty of details on the interior but no definitive guidelines on the nature, sizing and position of exterior stencilling. This is another public enquiry by the way.

Hi John. No, this was far less specific. It’s a request for everything we have on external stencilling. The tech library came up dry, and the guys that worked on our Sunderland are tricky to get hold of.

I had this same question asked of me a few weeks back, it later referred to my old squadron marking over the crew door of a Sunderland V of 209 Squadron, is this the same query? There was attached a photo of the crew awaiting to board said aircraft where crest was showing? If this is the same person substantive feed back was given at the time.
