Recordings of RAF Bombing raid broadcasts

I have heard a broadcast played in the RNZAF Museum made by Richard Dimbleby recorded on a raid over Europe in an RAF bomber.

I was wondering if anyone knows, is there a site on the web where this, or any other similar broadcasts or recordings made on RAF raids, downloadable from the web?

I have a few US ones made over D Day in bombers, but I’m interested in RAF stuff.

For anyone interested, I have just found this page with three excellent downloads of BBC recordings made on raids over Germany in RAF bombers

I have been going through downloading the many songs and speeches on that site recommended by Paul C. What a fantastic collection of recordings, most of which I have not heard before, and those I had are in better quality. And they’re quite full rather than the usual edits when it comes to the speeches – it’s especially good to hear Neville Chamberlain’s declaration of war in full which isn’t usually heard.

Thanks again Paul for a great tip.

I just discovered this page with a few audio clips of Dambusters veterans talking about the raids. Not long clips but interesting.

I just downloaded the song ‘Remember Pearl Harbor’ from the link Paul C posted. It should have been the closing theme to the film Pearl Harbor!

I just found this site about the men who made that recording linked above, with photos they took on their trips. Great site.

Hi 682al,

A great recording, thanks. Not that one I’d heard before either.

This is the clearest copy of the recording that I’ve heard…
