Mikael Carlson’s second original Blériot XI (Thulin A) flew after extensive restoration work on 2 November. This rare machine is now on the Swedish register as SE-AMZ.
His first original Blériot SE-XCM has been a cherished visitor to airshows in Europe, USA and even down under. In 1999 he repeated the classic Channel jump from 1909. What is unique with Carlson’s achievement is not just the extraordinary condition of his aeroplanes. He actually FLIES them, and not just for a hop!
I hope to get some photos of the “new” machine soon, in the meanwhile enjoy this his first Swedish-French lady…

This is great news, I think Mike has done a great job here as always, I have huge respect for him and his work with these engines and Aircraft.
He is a fine pilot too as he proved in his Tummelisa at Biggin in 2003.
