Island Farm POW Camp, Bridgend & German Escape.

Finally got around to scanning these pictures that I took in 1990. The huts have nearly all been demolished now but one has been preserved as well as some of the artwork. The pics are fairly self-explanatory. The one of some imbecile ( 😉 ) having a pee is taken where the mud from the tunnels was hidden. If I find any more I’ll post them here.

Final one..

This is the last one.

For more info try the book: “Island Farm – Special Camp 11” by Susan M Hawthorne. ISBN 0951539507. It is long out of print but I’ve occassionally seen copies for sale around and about – not the exorbitant ones on Abe Books!

Also, you MUST check out this fantastic website.

http://www.islandfarm.fsnet.co.uk/index.html

All you could possibly want to know plus a load more photos of the murals I didn’t photograph, plus you can see the state of them now.

Hope this is all of interest.
