A Friday night treat.

A few more random shots from the collection I thought you might enjoy…..

Malta Hurricane. Any idea who the pilot is?
Russian soldier guarding a Hurricane.
Hurricane being prepared for a sweep.
Spitfire with ground crew prepared for gas attack.

Finally, an unknown group of pilots. With the knowledge on this forum, i bet some of them will be identified….

Hope you enjoy,

Regards,

Hard to tell, but looks like Flt. Lt. Chesley Peterson DSO DFC, on the right and Gus Daymond DFC next to him. Peterson was the second CO of 71 Squadron, and Daymond was also in 71 until transfer to the USAAF.

The second from last photo of the gas being pumped in and the gas masks being worn, two things on this pic, one the fuel bowser with the donkey engine, my God if you got a cold morning these could be a devil to start especially with all that clobber on and I note also a very early trolley, accumulator starter!
