I see that the NTSB report has been published, regarding the crash in the USA last year, of Northern Lights owned Hawker Hunter T.7 (XL614) in which well known pilot, Tom Delashaw was killed.
Makes disturbing reading……… 🙁
Definitely a prime example of how NOT to go about operating a vintage jet aircraft…… 😮

Think whoever it was concerned believed his friend (the owner) and not the report.

It was here because an American member – could be the one who recently said he was departing for good but still lurks – claimed that it badly maligned and misrepresented his mate (the owner, I think) and it went down hill from there…
Considering the tone (less than complimentary about owner and pilot 😮 )of the article that appeared in the local (to crash) press after the report was published, can’t see how anything on here could have been worse…..

Edited to note:The person I thought it was claims that whilst he did know the group behind it, he was as critical about them as everyone else.
But the original thread was deleted so…

The full report came out in the summer – definately been talked about at length on this forum .
I must have been asleep when that happened then.
I better write 100 lines.
Must pay more attention

It really makes sense of he UK position where operation of such aircraft is governed by A8-20 which is the airworthiness and maintenance aspects and CAP632 on the operational aspects.
The position of the FAA local inspector was interesting in that I am certain in the UK a CAA inspector would have intervened to prevent the aircraft from flying until he was satisfied of its airworthiness.
I bet the owner is careful to stay well clear of the USA since the “Feds” must be really ****ed off at his departure despite being asked to stay until he had be interviewed.
What a totally avoidable tragedy.

it’s definitely been out for a while, may have been published here. Came out about the same time as the report on XF516. Both a case of press-on-itis
