Spitfire 18 TP280

Looking for some nice flying shots of this aircraft for the ol’ screensaver.

Anyone got any? I can only find ground shots on the net 🙁

Where she still flies to this day and still wears the signatures (at least as of OSH ’03 she did)…let me get back home tomorrow and I’ll check my files, I’m sure I have some shots of her in the air you might be able to use…

After we completed TP280, Rudy laid on a bash for all the ex 60 squadron personnel at Audley End. We had a 60 sqn Wessex in for the day as well.

The flying display was RW382 and TP280.

After it was over, we put her in a box, and shipped her out to Illinois!

Sorry for being a bit thick, but what was the significance of this event?

Very poignant 🙂

I remember seeing in Spitfire – Flying Legend the signatures on TP280’s tail of a number of ex-Spitfire pilots. Does she still carry them?

Yes – they are still there.

I noticed you also have a few shots of Bob DeFord’s full-scale replica Spitfire N1940K in there. Got any more?! 😀

Yeah, I’ve got one on my fighter wallpaper page:

The ‘Master’ and two of his charges.

Here is my favourite shot with TP280.

Jeffrey Quill – Audley End – 15 August 1992.

A 60 Squadron bash, laid on by Rudy Frasca.

Dibbo did the great air to air sortie with TP280. Copyright shots I am afraid.

It would appear from a few tries at a Google image search that one or two of his shots have been online but have since been removed, rightly so it seems! (Now that you mention him, they did appear to be his style of photography)

And you might also like the ones on this page: http://www.militaryairshows.net/galld2.htm

This site even has instructions in the status bar, how convenient!! 😀 😀

Daz,

I’ve searched everything I have, and nothing.

I’ve found the attached image at:
Air Venture

It might be worth talking to David Pride and seeing if he has any more.

Jim
