46 squadron, Stapleford

Hurricane R4704, Sgt J.P. Morrison killed, shot down in combat with enemy fighters over Dungeness, crashed near Newchurch Church, 16.50 hrs.

74 squadron, Biggin Hill

Spitfire P7431, F/O P.C.B. St John killed, shot down in combat with Bf109s, crashed at South Nutfield, Surrey, 15.30 hrs.

257 squadron, North Weald

Hurricane R4195, P/O N.B. Heywood killed, came under AA fire during combat with Bf109s over Folkestone, crashed three quarters of a mile south of Lydd Church, 16.46 hrs.

Hurricane V6851, Sgt R.H.B. Fraser killed, shot down in combat with Bf109s over Folkestone, crashed and burned out at Moat Farm, Shadoxhurst, 16.50 hrs.
