The world’s only surviving example of the high-altitude Spitfire MkVII, EN474, looking a little worse for wear in this photo:

The claim that this was a copyright violation has been removed from this thread, so I have removed my comment too. End of story.

Time to eat humble pie.
Did the alleged copyright holder also steal the Skyrocket picture too? Just wondering . . .

Try playing spot the difference.
Bearing in mind this was inside the high security Silver Hill complex by special arrangement and the Spitfire was bought outside for the occasion.
Can you get any closer than this?
Only the shadows are about 10 minutes out of sync. and it seems the shot on Airliners was taken two days previous to my own.

Oh, that’s the one!
I saw it in 2002 when I was there, and she looks atrocious. Wrong everything as far as colours go.
Green is too bright, grey is ugly, etc… So much that I didn’t take a picture!

I’d certainly make an offer for this they couldn’t refuse if I ever win the Lotto jackpot, and restore it in No 131 (County of Kent) Sqn markings.

Daz,
Nowadays people would think it to be a criminal act to have the aircraft repainted (she was later), and keep it in this state.
Cheers
