What is this prewar British plane?

What type of aircraft is this? Is it Miles? Percival? These things all look very similar to me and I have no references on such types. The picture is scanned from a photocopy that our local museum has. The original appears to have disappeared. I would imagine it comes from the Waikato Aero Club at Rukuhia, as its name is “Spirit of Waikato”. Unless it is privately owned.

Any suggestions as to what the type is, and the registration if anyone actually knows, I’d love to hear.

Sadly not, but I got the info from http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/proctor.html though. They may be able to help.

Cheers!.

Wow – thanks. This might be asking a bit much, but do you have any idea of the years it was with the WAC? To try to date the photo.

Thanks again.

The plane is ZK-APH (c/n Ae126)
This was formerly operated by the Waikato Aero Club (NZ) as ‘Spirit of Waikato’. The aircraft was w/d at Ardmore in 1967 and the reg was cancelled in 1991.
Last reported as being in storage in Chistchurch NZ.

I’d say it’s a Percival. Either a version of a Gull or Proctor.
