Halifax Panel Project

Hello Guys.
I recently finished my Halifax panel and thought I would share some photos with you. There are a couple of nameplates missing due to an error or two at the store that made them. I do hope to receive the lower panel back from the shop this week so that I can complete that section as well.

Hi Elliott,

Do you have instrument panel dimensions? The types and model #’s for the instruments. That would be a huge start! I will email you within the next few days with the Whitley part found at my Uncle’s crashsite. My digital camera is in for repairs.

Thank-you,

Todd

Todd

If you drop me your address i’ll send you a tracing of the panel via snail mail – it’s too big to scan.

It would be great to have a few more Whitley panels in circulation out there. I’ll start a thread on it.

Very nice Peter!

I would love to build a Whitley panel. I just don’t know where to find the instruments…

Cheers,

Todd

I will post a drawing of the Whitley panel – I promised Cees I would do this a long time ago!

Hi Cees,

I’m not sure I’d buy the proper instruments! I wish I could locate some paperwork for Whitley’s! Being from Canada doesn’t help when all the spares seem to be floating around in the U.K (so it seems) and Europe.

Cheers,

Todd

Hi Todd

What kind of paperwork do you mean?

We were cleaning the peat out of one of our wings yesterday when we found an old paper packet from Rolls Royce which once contained a seal.

I’ll post a scan soon.

There are many sources where you can find instruments, It just takes some training and effort to do so. How about e-bay

Cheers

I had the panel made from an original drawing that was sent to me from Hendon. The panel drawing was transferred to cad and entered into a water cutting machine which uses hig pressure water to cut metal.

Congratulations, Peter!
Was the panel delivered from someone, or did you produce your own?

I am still hoding out hope that there is one to be found here in canada!

Whitly freak, instruments are easy to find but it is the rare type of guages that prove elusive!

Peter,

That’s looking really good, now all you need is a suction change over ****.
