At about 1610 today, the OFMC P-51, Spitfire 9 and the TFC Wildcat took off from Duxford heading for Plymouth. Anybody know why? Airshow or memorial flypast perhaps? It’s not in the OFMC list of bookings hence the query.

I must admit it was a lovely sight and sound this afternoon with the 3 of them flying down the river tamar at about 13.40, certainly brighten up the afternoon along with the seakings, lynx, gazelles, hawks and shars flying low over the office today.

Stuart Goldspink flew the wildcat.
Mk 12 the stripes went on tuesday, on the wings only, and will probably be off as soon as MH434 gets back.

I think Lee Proudfoot was in the Spitfire and Alistair Kay (?) in his P-51. Not sure who was in the Wildcat.

MH434 Invasion Stripes.
Can somebody please capture an image of MH434 with ‘new stripes’.
They will probably be off by next Tuesday if the ‘Chaily scheme’ is anything to go by.
I have in mind a certain book…JDK.

I was there and saw them go but was too far away to identify which ones they were, so thanks.
I was fairly confident it was MH434 as there was a big Spitfire-shaped gap where it should have been.
Nice low passes before leaving, too.

Does anyone know who was flying them?

Thanks chaps. They made quite an unusual combination for the Duxford day-trippers.

Hence MH434s new D day stripes
