Would anyone happen to know if a photo of RW393 in WHITE exists anywhere?
I’ve seen a profile drawing of her (Spitfire – The History I think) in this colour scheme, but nothing else 🙁

That’s another profile in S:TH – can’t recall whether it said why it was painted white, though :confused:

If the RAF Museum is still operating its photo sales, it is available there on neg. number P013612.

Just came across these in my files, DAZ you might be interested that the 2 New Conservators at East Fortune are currently cleaning the Spit’s (TE462) paintwork and removing the underside paint that went pink. According to them it was water based paint. It now looks blue but still a bit worn.
