Photographs

Mark,

As a matter of interest did you happen to get any pics of the other aircraft in the hanger which you could possibly share with us?

Many Thanks

I most certainly did and most certainly can.

All my 35mm is away at the processors so it will be next week before I can post. I have a few small digi shots but let’s wait.

In the mean time here is a shot of a large photo in the work shop office. From memory there are 24 Warbird and Classic aircraft in the fabulous ‘Jim Smith Airforce’. This is a very private collection tucked away in Northern Montana and is rarely if ever seen in public.

Blimey – first time I’ve ever seen anything like that!

Probably not quite the scale effect they were going for, though 😉

Two sets of exhausts? Does that mean it’s powered by two very small engines driving a common propshaft? Handy for incresing the endurance though, just shut down one engine ala Gannet.

Close. Two Ford V6 engines connected by a flex plate.

I seem to remember The Aston DB7 V12 variant ‘married’ two Ford V6 engines together. I had a peek at the Aston proto in Jack Roush’s shop in Detroit whilst on other business, about eight years back.
