Delta Jets' JP4

Does anyone have any photographs of the former Delta Jets Jet Provost Mk.4?
Painted red/white/black, it was on display at both the Delta Jets Flying Days held in 2000. If my memory serves me it also had 5MU lettering on the fin and sported its Maintenance serial 8409M.

I believe it is now at Brunty.

25p! LOL.

I know it was 25p (5/- in old money) because that’s my kids in the foreground, my boy is counting his change to see if he had enough. 🙂

It certainly looks like XW287, the first production JP5.

I think the second is XW433 but cannot be 100% certain.

Thanks Les 🙂

Thanks Les. Always interested in any JP photos, especially of XW289.

Another couple for you then. First is at Finningley’s (very wet) 1980 Battle of Britain airshow, the nearest is XW287 I think. They were charging kids 25p to sit in the things and doing a roaring trade. Second is another 5 at Kemble a few years back, don’t know the number (or the blokes).

Mark, It can still be found at Brunty in Phoenix’s yard, it belongs to Alan Witt who is in the process of stripping her of spares and will then be putting her up for sale, I’ll try and get a couple of images for you over the weekend.

Les – photo 1 looks like Kennets JP5 XW289, G-JPVA. Don’t recognise the other one

1. JP taxying out at Kemble – 2000. 2. JP at Brunty last weekend.

Are these any good Mark? The “Brunty” JP is a Mk 3 though I think and the Kemble sample is a Mk.5?.
