Contributors to this forum, are you a pilot? What do you fly? What’s your three favourite aeroplanes (that you have flown)?
Me, I fly all sorts of aeroplanes ranging from Cri-Cri to Harvard through to Jet Provost….Mostly for fun but also sometimes display:D
My 3 Favourite aeroplanes are: Fournier RF-4D, PA-18-150 Super Cub and Harvard..All the others I fly are fun (whats the point in flying otherwise?), but these are my 3 faves.

I’d suggest a scantily-clad wing walker would be your best option. (Female would be my preference)

Now there’s a thought, may need to strap a plank across the top of cabin roof however to stop her sticking her feet through the little windows on the top, last thing I want as I’m flying along is someone standing on my head 😀
I did see the 150 pics at OW, interesting to say the least.

Question is, can I get a DA in a 172, and will anybody watch??
Well if you check the Old Warden threads you’ll see that it can be done in a 150.
On the other hand I can’t imagine a 172 being quite as enthralling, at least up to the stage where the wings fall off, then that makes it a bit of a one-time display item.

It is rumoured that I am a pilot, however I’m not sure whether anyone on this forum has ever witnessed such a feat. However to date I have only ever flown 3 aircraft and all of those have been 172’s. I have however had a go from the second seat in a Harvard and a Stearman (which I think is the most wonderful way to get around the skies!!).
Maybe one day I may see if I can have a go at flying something other than a 172 but I’m not sure whether the insurance companies can stand the strain (or the aircrafts owner come to that).

Hmm, a difficult one, about 25-ish types in the book, mostly spammers. The only noteworthey ones are Harvards, Wiraway, Jet Provost, Yak 52’s, a Victa Airtourer, various Cubs and a Tiger moth.
I least enjoyed the Airtourer, nothing againsed the type, but this one was a heap. The Harvards are great, the Wiraway was too, I was a million miles behind the JP for ages, but my favourit has to be the Tiger, you do need to use your feet alot, but what a lovely experience. It is a ‘balmy summers evening’ type of aircraft, or in my case, my intro onto the Tiger was in Austraila, dont get many chances to fly one on the UK any more.
‘Balmy summers evenings’ are also reserved for sailing my boat, but I guess tha’s a different forum……… 😮

The ultimate ‘tail dragger’…
My favourite “tail dragger” to fly…9 tonnes and 1900hp..
Grumman TBM-3E Avenger VH-TBM s/n 91110
A Turkey flown by Oscar Duck… 😮

Loads of spamcans, a couple of twins, then my favourites, the Stearman and the Yak 52.
Always thought I’d go back to the Yak, but learning that the CAA now mandate an engine change every 500 hours I’m not that sure. It is starting to look expensive.
I own a share in a PA22. 🙂

The Spitfire flight was a totally unique experience, but one I shall probably never be able to afford to do again. Just to get it in the Log Book is something every pilot dreams of, especially as later I got my LB countersigned by Jean Dabos – a Free French pilot who flew the same Spitfire operationally in the war and went on to test fly Concorde!
I can fly the Yak solo and do pretty much what I want in it – and it’s affordable (just) – so that’s why I put it first.

Least enjoyable – any Cessna!

Have over 350 types and variants over the last 50 years. Favourites are any Pitts variant, our Steen Skybolt and the Nord 1002 Pingouin (frog Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun) along with the bull Stearman, Chipmunk, Stampe SV4 and the Tiger Moth on which I learned to fly some 13,000 hours ago. The CriCri is a fine aeroplane – flew a couple of examples including the testing on one. Really enjoyed the opportunity. Most of my hours are on spam cans but do not knock anything that gets your ass off the ground.
Cheers,

Senor Patterson, dont knock the Cri-Cri, its a fantastic handling aeroplane, even if it is small and has strange engines which you start like a chainsaw!

The first Mark I via Mark 972b With a Vc/d/e wing and hook!

I’m not sure if I would include Cri-Cri on my resume. Don’t you need one of those little remote control boxes with the long antenna to fly the thing?
The forum is a nice mix of pilots, mechanics, restorers, historians, authors (all the English are published authors), photographers and enthusiasts. Well, we’re all enthusiats or we wouldn’t be here. Ask a question and I’m sure you’ll get an answer. No promises how good it will be, but you’ll get an answer.
Personally I’m building a Spitfire from spare parts I pick up on my visits to the UK. Only 374 more trips to Legends and I’ll be there.

I fly (whenever I can :)).
Currently I have access to a C172. I also have recently started to fly as a charter co-pilot Beechcraft King Air 200 and F90 (I still have LOTS to learn). Other aircraft flown: C150/C152, Vigilant Motor Glider, Piper Arrow and Piper Seminole. My favourites are the King Air (love it), Arrow and the 172 (although anything that gets me off the ground has to be good :))
By: Feather #3 - 17th July 2004 at 01:12
I’d have to say the DH-82, Super Constellation, and CAC Winjeel.
The B747-200 is up there [best of the ‘Classics’ and back to basics compared to the -400’s], but too much like work!
G’day

Erm, yeah, I guess I just about meet the criteria, although I only passed the Skills Test this time round about two months ago.
Currently flying a PA28-181, which is nicer than the -161. Off to do a Cub course in a couple of weeks, which I guess will be even more fun.
Three favourites that I’ve flown; not sure whether Chipmunks count, as it was many moons ago and I was back seat only, but they were by far the most fun I’ve had in the air. Failing that, I’m enjoying the -181 at the moment, and my mate’s Musketeer was also a fun piece of kit to play with.
Hopefully I’ll be able to add some more interesting types to the list in the months and years to come!
