Me again!
My Falcon has generated quite a bit of interest since I acquired it (and the Magister) in 01.
The aircraft has a fascinating history which, with the help of a number of enthusiasts including Frederic Lagerquist of the FAA in Sweden, we have managed to unravel.
Check out the latest (July/August) isssue of Air Enthusiast for a wonderfully detailed and well researched history of my aircraft over 4 pages.
The piece includes a photo of the aircraft at a fly-in at Norkopping in ’38, made all the more interesting by the presence of a Swastika fluttering in the background (we re-enacted that scene in 02 – the hangar in the picture survives to this day) . Another shows the aircraft on skis and is in fact the subject of a beautiful painting hanging in our house.
If anybody wants a ride in the Falcon (restricted to 180lb I’m afraid!) – the first one to wave a copy of the magazine at me over the fence at OW and convince me also that they are a member of the SVAS – wins the prize!
Thank you FlyPast for such a wonderful feature – a great addition to my growing history files. The aircraft came to me with nothing. When I pass it on, the new owner will have many hours of fascinating reading ahead of them.

I heard about the article when I spoke to Peter at the recent Air Britain Fly-in at North Weald. Have read it since – very interesting.
Here are a couple of detail pictures G-AEEG from Turweston (March last year).

There are times I wish I was a 9 stone weakling instead of a 15 stone ditto. 🙂

I was recently privileged to be able to rustle through Hairy’s boxes (oooo errr). He has a quite magnificent collection of historical data, photographs and memorabilia on both the Maggie and the Falcon (this was pre Ryan). He also has a cracking Local which does excellent pies 😀
A selection from the photos I scanned which include a couple of the photos mentioned above all courtesy of HP.

I have some of the Maggie as well, but I think we’ll need a new thread for that. Thanks once again HP
