Burning D-Day Question!

Does anyone know what the D in D Day stood for?!

Thanks guys – sorry to repeat – latest Gen on P-51D (G-) Suzy (as of 8pm last night!) is that the replacement engine has been finished and is running in the states, the owners are confident that she will be airborne in time for the show

Is a term used for amphib landings “departed date”. Means really nothing. There were other D-Days in North Africa, Italy, Sicilly, the Pacific.
