Just got back yesterday from a trip to California to see friends, and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a I-16 (with outer wings removed) mounted on a trailer, towed by a pick-up going northbound up I-101 just south of San Francisco. This was last Monday (17th), any ideas which one it was and where it might have been headed….???

Its the CAF bird it was comming home from the Red Star Gathering the pilot most likly was Dave Mosre. Since it doesn’t have good legs its cart around the States alot.
I think the Main sponser is Bob Reise the same person who sponcers the CAF FM-2 done up in FAA/RN markings.

Can’t be certain about the number 28, but I think there may have been a white numeral on the side, but, I can definately say it was the same paint scheme as that photo.
