633 Squadron….

I have 2 questions concerning the B 25 that’s used in the movie;

1) Is the paint scheme a true representation of a scheme used back then and;

2) whatever became of the aircraft?

Thanks, Gerry

Yes, the Mitchell still survives and is currently at North Weald with Aces High named “Bedsheet Bomber” It was N9089Z and I think they shortened it to N908 in the film to look like a military serial. It is really ex 4430861 and after the film was due to return to the USA, but became unservicable and never did return.

I think it is pretty much a civil scheme with a few roundels added for good measure, not an accurate wartime scheme. If I remember rightly the numbers on the fuselage are an american civil reg. altered to give it a millitary appearance.

I dunno about the scheme, but it was the camera-plane for the movie.
