Made my first visit of the year to Duxford today for the Merlins over Malta and my god is the place in a muddle due to aircraft being moved out of the superhanger.
The superhanger it’s self seemed a strange place with just Concorde, the Comet, Sunderland and Dove still in place. There is now lots of open space in there with the plastic Spit, Grumpy, one of the Firelfys, a Pilatas P2 and ARCO’s Harvard currently in residence. As mentioned before the Vulcan is outside as is the Sea Vixen and Gannet. The Lancaster and Lysander amongst others are now in Hanger 4 while the Tornado, Phantom, Ju52 and Strickmaster are now at the back of Hanger 2.
Other movements include the York moving from one side of Hanger 3 to the other and the Pucara and Brittania moved outside.
All good fun

Janie, are you sure that one of the locals there isn’t raising hell in the meantime for having had his jacket stolen? π
The Red Lion have been informed. They’ve had no calls.
I don’t know why I’m trying so hard. It’s a lovely jacket.

Oh did Lucy leave my black jacket with Tiger Squadron badge on it? That is why i didn’t know it was missing because I thought she had it.
Nice try LS, but I’m afraid the one I have fits another description.

Smart.
It’s always someone else’s fault…

I couldn’t see Alexander Kwasniewski in the pocket.

I cannot be certain. Suffice to say that the forum mob, as far as I know took up the whole of one section in the pub and the jacket was in this section. It also, for what it is worth, has a avaition motif on it.

I haven’t had anyone confess to having left their jacket in the Red Lion yet.
I arrived after a lot of you had left and I’ve taken custody of it.

Evenin’ all,
No worries, I can play cricket. And a blacksmith repearable car is an asset. Steve P is having a Total Aviation Week, and would like to thank you guys, but he’s kipping.
He’s said several times how much he enjoyed Sunday (even when he thinks’s no one’s listening) and for a Yank who’s never seen a roundabout, did very well in twilight through Milton Keynes, following me. The fact that he complained that I kept ‘slingshoting’ through the roudabout (I will gloss over that my car is a 33 years old MGB, I was driving ‘slowly so he didn’t lose me'(!?) his was a 53 reg Merc tank, but explains the time of our journey home.)
A big thank you to the Fleet Air Arm Historic Flight, especially Eric and Mr John Beattie for letting Steve sit in the Sea Fury (Buy Centaurus – You KNOW it doesn’t make sense!) and to our own Melvyn and the Popham PFA Strut for making us welcome this evening.
Steve got to also sit in the Sea Hawk, and decided he wants one. If you have an airworthy Sea Hawk, he’ll trade…
More soon, but I’m bailing out of cramming Steve with aviation for 24 hours, and MikeJ takes over here…
Cheers
PS – All meals accepted and eaten. Ta. Keep ’em coming. You wait ’til I publish the JDK diet book. Forword by Robbo, my very own ‘before’ picture.

Just having a glance through my images…
Anyone for a Will J? (There was a better shot – if you’re Will π – but some woman walked in front of him!)
