BBMF Hurricanes

Pity the BBMF didn’t do her up as “The Last of the Many” for the 60th anniversary of the last Hurricane built – would have been this year! 🙁

Here is PZ865, this time with Polish 303 Sqn insignia.

An interesting scheme.

I always thought that PZ865 should always be kept in her “original” ‘The Last Of The Many’ markings.

I don’t have images, but I can provide some details of the codes and when they were applied:

LF363
LE-D – April 1969 (thin style). Painted in thick style in 1973.
GN-F – 1978/79 winter servicing.
VY-X – January 1983.
NV-L – June 1987.
GN-A – 1990.
US-C – 1998.

PZ865
“The Last of the Many” – 1972, reapplied in 1982.
DT-A – 1972.
JU-Q – 1977/78.
RF-U – July 1989.
J – 1992/93.

LF363 also wore LE-D codes at some stage, but I don’t know exactly when.

The NV-L scheme looks nice, but she looks bloody odd with four blades!!
