Hi All,
My initial thought was King George, but the rank wasn’t right! I hadn’t thought about the Duke of Gloucester.

The Duke of Gloucester was an Air Marshal so could be him.

That’s not King George VI. The King was ranked Marshall of the RAF, which is the highest rank in the RAF. He held the same rank in the RNZAF. His sleeve insignia would have been one thick stripe and four medium stripes per sleeve.
This chap is an Air Vice-Marshall, having one thick and one medium (is that even a medium stripe or just an illusion in the photo – if not a stripe he’s only an Air Commodore)
