So help please !!!

Here is one of the wheels. You can see how the oleo has been cut and crudely modified with steel sections for non aviation use (Farm trailer?)
The tyre size is also visible.
Any ideas?

I can get photos (days rather than hours) but the oleos have been cut very close to the axle

The Dunlop list

Through the good offices of this Forum the Dunlop list is on record. See a thread of some months back.

Provide the AH number and …voila!

Dunlop modular wheels are all so similar the it is pure speculation to say that it looks like a ‘so and so’.

A common disappointment is the Dove wheel compared to the 12 inch wheel as fitted to the later Spitfires – different bearing offset

If either are Dunlops, then give Dunlop an email, I did this re a wheel the museum had, and they were very helpful. I don’t have the email address, but have a look at Dunlop’s website, and use one of their ‘contact us’ links.

Hendon have a partial list of the ‘AH’ numbers & they would also be worth contacting.

The second one looks like a Dunlop wheel.

There are many in the modular range of different diameter, width and bearing offset.

On the “spoke” there will be an AH***** number. With that the former usage can be determined.

Wire brush or bead blast………… begin.
