I’ve no idea what they are – paintings, flight sim screenshots, cunningly-depicted models, whatever – but these are some nice shots!

Unfortunately the whole lot is in Japanese!! 🙁

That’s because they are oversize on the real one. The codes were a misinterpratation of the instructions in this Sqn.
Cant. Yes, Supermodel, very nice kit.
Cheers

Daz,
Cheers for that, mate. I’m happy to admit I’m wrong, although they still look ‘oversized’ to me, even on the authentic photo!

Clever bods, the Japanese 😉
More 610 Spitfires with ‘oversize’ markings.

Notice the lens flare that starts in the top right, it is one of the standard lens flare renders which come with Adobe Photoshop 🙂

If you go to his home page – select tools – you will find the tools he used.
They consist of scalpels and tweezers so I would guess they are for modelling!
Great pics though.

Ian – I don’t think so. Here’s an photo of an Airfix Spitfire MkI (1/72) that I’ve sent to my mate in Ohio who’s building a full-sized one – the markings look the same size to me.

looks more like flight sim (with oversize lettering!)
By: RadarArchive - 1st April 2004 at 14:50
Is it just me, or are the aircraft identity letters, and fuselage roundels, way oversized? To me they just look so unrealistic.

Swindled again! 😀

Well, as many of them are available in 1/48 scale by Tamiya, and the remaining ones by Revell or Hasegawa (except the CANT – that one escapes me – perhaps Supermodel), I think they are well built, cleverly Photo-shopped models.
