Does anyone know of any good sites for photos of this historic airport especially showing the remains of wartime areas?

Appreciate you didn’t use the current name by PEEL Holdings!!!

My maternal G/father was a general Foreman when the place was built, and my maternal Uncle plus my Dad were on the first draft of RAF personnel

PZULBA – Out of Africa (retired) – sadly no photo’s of the ‘drome but do have one of de Gaulle inspecting troops (RAF) which was allegedly taken there

Goosepool DVD

Have come across a new website featuring the DVD history of RAF Middleton St. George known as Goosepool. Just received my copy. It’s excellent and tells the story of three squadrons from the Royal Canadian Air Force. See regimentsondvd.com.

Do you have any more of the opposite side of the field where the old dispersal pans are?

I thought that lightning was sold and in the process of being dismantled for shipment up north?

Hi all

Last i herd about the lightning was that it had been bought by an oil company in scotland and they were going to hang it from the roof of there headquaters.

Bought that for dad for his Bday

That is an excellent book. I never heard of the excavation of the base dump before this book came along. They found a fair bit of stuff there but no big parts of aircraft.

Goosepool Book

A book called Goosepool was published last year. I haven’t seen it or read it so can’t say if it is any good or not. Here’s a link to a site with more information about it
