Harpoon and Guardian pics

Visited Falcon Field in Mesa over the weekend and though I would share a couple of pics of birds that may be of interest. First is a Harpoon (I think) which is undergoing some clean up and a repaint. I have no idea who owns the bird or what their intentions are for the airplane. It does not appear to be a restoration to airworthy but I could be wrong on that. This is one of five or six on the airfield that were used as sprayers. They all look to be in reasonable condition but have not seen any TLC in many, many years. I welcome your comments on the “lovely” British paint job! (MarkV?)

Second is the Grumman Guardian which is looked after by the Arizona Wing of the CAF. Can’t be more than half a dozen of these birds left (if that many) and this one has been on outside display for quite some time. I would love to see it returned to airworthy but, if not, it certainly deserves to be inside. A very large airplane to be pulled around by a singe engine! Please drop by and take a look if you are interested.

No update on that Mark12, Gosshawk was closed up tight as it usually is on weekends. I may take another trip out to the field in the next few days to get an update on the 190D and I’ll ask about the Spit.
