Proctuka

Hello,

Does anyone have any information on the three Proctors that became Stuka replicas? Registrations were: G-ALOK, G-AIEY and G-AIAE.

Were they all converted? What happened to them? Any more photos?

Thanks,

Jon.

Thanks for the picture Daz, it seems that there is no way of telling which aircraft is which, as the picture I posted was G-AIAE and they both look identical!!

Hi
If the STUKA at Hendon is the same one that was at either St Athat or RAS Colerne then it will start and is in beautiful condition (or it was when I saw the engine run’s).
Be great to see it fly.:) 🙂

Viv Bellamy once told me they were planning to use the Stuka that is in Hendon but they ran out of budget. He said he got in, primed it and it started third pull. He had no doubt that it was very airworthy at that time.

The Proctors were, apparently, boderline suicide machines

No idea!

Of the three, IIRC two of them were converted, one flew, and the other was used for spares.

As related elsewhere, they weren’t used in the movie ‘cos the wings couldn’t handle steep dives like the real thing.

Would be interesting to see the Russian Stuka replica being put through its paces, though!

Will try and get the pics tonight, if someone doesn’t get in there first!

Hi Daz,

Scans of those pictures would be great, thanks.

Any idea when and where they were scrapped?

I think they were all scrapped – there’s a good couple of photos of them in Robert Rudhall’s books on the making of the movie.

I can try and scan them tonight, if you want.
