Snowy Duxford

I know I am sad but thought these looked nice when I took them last weekend so thought I would post them.

Wow…not used to seeing DX looking like that….we get plenty of white stuff out this way that makes things look like that, but it’s kinda wild to see DX look that way….I always imagine green grass and such…

For the country with one of the most moderate climates in the world, we do make a lot of noise about it!

My Canadian rellies find our panic about 1mm snow in Britain risible – but then they haven’t seen the driving ‘skills’ that then get demonstrated.

Spring is alive, well, and living in Oxon. Flowers! Thoughts of airshows! Rain! etc…

Cheers

But i was told it was worse the further towards Norfolk you got… what where you going to fly from where?

We flew down to Duxford on the Sunday from a Norfolk grass strip, nice and snowy on the runway, however as you came west to the A140 the snowline seemed to stop and then all was clear until you got west of Haverhill, interesting to see. Anyway you can keep the snow, I’ll stick to the 30 degrees I am in right now with aeroplanes everywhere (some of then are even a bit interesting).

A taildragger out of Little Gransden where, apparently, there was no snow.

A lovely 93 degrees here today. (Phoenix, AZ) That’s about 15 degrees above normal, I would prefer the normal. 🙁 However, I’ll take 93F over snow any time, very thin blood living here in the desert!

The pics are most welcome.

I got some stick last weekend for being too chicken to go flying in Cambs. It wasn’t the flying in snow that was a problem, it was the driving to Cambs!

These pics prove I made the right decision. Thanks.

Afraid not the missus went walking with the camera while I had a chat so only got a few of the planes down by the side of hangar 5 and the nose ones, she is getting quite good. Can tell the difference between a Hurricane and a Spit now!

Believe me it is a step forward.

I wouldn’t call that sad, I like them! Do you have one of just the VC10 covered with snow?
