68 years ago today (Friday) the prototype Spitfire made her first flight at Eastleigh.
Spare a moments thought for all the people who were involved and subsequently in the lengthy development period, without whom etc…

They are unveiling a statue of the aircraft tomorrow (Friday) on the airport roundabout. Public not invited though.
Apparently a Spitfire will do a flypast over the airfield, not sure which one though?
