BBMF – Coningsby Open at Weekends

I see that the BBMF at Coningsby are going to have three weekend openings this summer:

June 19-20
July 3-4
July 17-18

I went there about 18 months ago and was very impressed. My only problem about re-visiting has been that they’re usually only open on weekdays and not at weekends.

I’m going to go for one of these weekends. I’d recommend it to anyone who hasn’t been. (And there’s also Just Jane nearby at East Kirkby !)

[QUOTE](And there’s also Just Jane nearby at East Kirkby !) QUOTE]

Quite funny. A few summers back I was on a family holiday in the UK and visiting Conningsby after the RIAT at Cottesmore. (The weather was horrible so we left there early!)

I was having a look at some German Tornado’s and of course trying to see as much as I could inside the BBMF hangar from outside the fence.
After a while I started to chat with some kind old lady and she told me about East Kirby which I had never heard of and I enjoyed the visit very much. I would have been rather disappointed if I would have found out about the place later!

Great – he’s coming to see me tommorow, so I’ll let him know.

Fluffy

Will you & some of the guys be popping into the museum again this year?

We’re open every Sunday, 10am to 5pm, starting on Easter Sunday, until the last Sunday in September (end of plug)

Having just read about the cost to visit HFL’s hangar why don’t you visit BBMF and save £50

well that is good news. Bear in mind that some aircraft may not be there (gone to an airshow) but the chances of seeing departing/arriving aircraft will be higher.
