Okay, I wouldn’t normally do this, and I apologise if it’s not really the ‘done’ thing here, but I thought I would offer some books I want to sell to my friends here before I offered them out to the masses via Ebay.
I have got ‘An Elementary Course In The Construction Of Aircraft’, 3rd edition, dated 1937, in really good condition; this book lists with online sellers around the £60-£70 mark, but I would be willing to take a lesser offer.
Then I have 2 volumes of ‘Wonders Of Aviation’, and here’s a description that I’ve ‘borrowed’ to save me typing it all myself!
“London, Amalgamated Press, (ca. 1938). Hard Cover. 2 volumes (Volume 1 has 560 pages and Vol. 2 pages 561-1088), 16 color plates, approximately 2000 illustrations, maps, cloth. One of the best, if not the best, collection of articles and illustrations published during the pre-WWII period. Includes contributions by J. Laurence Pritchard, Maj. Oliver Stewart, Capt. Norman Macmillan, Maj. Charles Cyril Turner, Arthur Clark and many others. Most of the material deals with aeronautics in the 1930’s although many articles are of a historical nature, covering both civil and military matters. Exceptional pictorial coverage of contemporary aircraft with many full or double-page. Many good articles on WWI and on the RAF in the 1930’s.”
Conditions of both volumes is very good inside, spines are just faded is all.
These two volumes together seem to be going for all sorts of prices, often £80-ish, but again, I’m open to lesser offers.
Drop me a PM if interested, I’ll give it a few days but then will put them up on Ebay.
Cheers for your time,
Mike
