A4 SkyHawk any chance of one flying here

Hi

I have always liked the A4 SkyHawk so would their be any chance for one to fly here.

Would the CAA say yes and also would anyone else want to see this.

skyhawk

Strangeley enough there was talk about an A4 flying in britain(based in leics i think) at airshows against a mig (possibly a 15) but nothing more came of it (this was in the early 90s) i do know that the skyhawk would have been a two seater (TA-4J?) ex us navy machine as you can pick them up in the states for about £750,000 dollars and as previously stated there is still full parts support for this type and the CAA has previously said that it will certify non supersonic types (hunters, vampires and albatrosses)as long as there is the proper facilities available. however the only downside to this is that of all these types the A4 is i think the only nuclear capable aircraft of those mentioned above which could complicate things?

I think its been very dissapointing that those gorgous camouflaged birds have been in France for several years and theyve only turned up here once!! Well done Waddo for that coup!
I did hear that the Singapore AF agreed to 2 airshow appearances a year – theyre fairly regular at French shows. Pity that the pulling power of RIAT hasnt worked, whats more they could have added another country to their already unrivalled list!

Is it this year they finish the deployment ? with the impending retirement of the type will they bother to fy them home or sell them to the nearest scrap yard to Cazaux!?
Come on Delta or Kennet – nows your chance!

A BAe Flight Systems A-4 was on static display at the German Navy (Marineflieger) airshow at Eggebeck close to the Danish border in north Germany last year. I think there’s (at least) a picture of it on airliners.net

BAe Flight Systems at Wittmund in Germany has replaced it’s F-100s with former Israeli Skyhawks. These F-100s occasionally visited some airshows, so perhaps the Skyhawks will do that too

We may have to wait a while if my memory is correct flight systems jets have only been at two airshows in about the last 15 years (in the uk)

One or two years back, a few former Israeli Skyhawks also stopped over in the UK on their way to the US. And apart from the Singaporeans, there is now another Skyhawk operator Europe. not very long ago, these were our main strike force……

When flown properly, the Skyhawks were amazing to watch.

I didn’t know about the Waddington ones, a long way from home. Yes in its updated versions not a pretty sight. I guess there must have been a few around the UK in the 60’s off US carriers.

Am I right in saying that the last time a A4 appeared at a show was Greenham Common in 1977

I cant see any CAA problems, after all there is still full product support.
