Which aces, from either World War, are commemorated by airworthy aircraft around the world?
Let’s start with Johnnie Johnson – no less than two aircraft currently wear his markings:

My trouble is I just take note of the aircraft type/serial/registration and any particular comments (like “Battle of Britain movie, MH434, CD-M etc), not the person’s name.
However, duly noted!

Mike – have I used a couple of your pics?
If so, sorry! I quite often save images to put on my screensaver, but that’s all!

The BBMF Hurricanes have carried a good number of schemes in the past. I recall in the early eighties LF363 was in all black 85 Sqn scheme, I think this may have been Peter Thownsends markings..?
Also, I remember back in the seventies, I think PZ865, was in Bob Stanford-Tuck’s DT-A 257 Sqn markings.

Bf109E 3579, apparently in the markings it wore during the Battle of Britain, when it carried out a forced landing near Calais in the hands of Hans-Joachim Marseille.
