I have just come back from my first visit in its new guise. Lots of visitors today.Very impressive, but perfer the Duxford type working museum.
Loved the Grahame White hangar but it could do with some padding out with exhibitions and a few more aircraft, but I guess its very new.
Milestones was good too but I found it a bit ‘gimickey'(turntable, mossie on a perch etc). Liked the chopper exhibition, although what relevance the Skeeter has to the RAF I don’t know?? Was slightly dissapointed that the top gallireys haven’t changed in about 20 years. One glaring omission in terms of aircraft is a Dak, or any transport aircraft really. Would love to see the one at Aldershot brought to Hendon and put inside. They made such a massive impact over many years.
I didn’t try more than a cup of tea so no catering comments.
