Hi all;
A couple of weeks back the Torygraph had a piece on the crash of a Yak-28 into a lake in Berlin in the 1960’s, and the subsequent clandestine recovery operation by British Forces.
The article said there was a TV programme coming up on the affair, did I miss it or is it still on the way?
TIA

No problem. There is some sort of Russian Jet Maffia on the other forum though, we’re glad to help on stuff like this. Best of all is of course that threads on old Yaks rarely get spoiled by nationalistic numbnuts.

Thanks for the replies, guys – I had considered posting on the ‘other’ forum but it didn’t quite fit ‘Modern Military’ as most of you youngsters weren’t even born then…..:D

Will post a reply back on the original thread, i wouldn’t want to overwhelm the sweet smell of AvGas on this board with the lovely smell of kerosene 🙂

The thread is at http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19280&highlight=Yak27
There are some pics of the salvaging in the thread, and a little chat on Yak-27 and -28 survivors in Germany.

Have a look on the modern military forum – might be best to do a search under brixmis or something. All was discussed there. – Nermal
