Hi
Does anyone know the date the Lancaster at Duxford last flew and also does it still have its engines fitted ?
Thanks

I understand it had the potential to be with a bit of work.

Ok so perhaps they took the engines in a sort of trade for freeing up the paperwork to allow the Lancaster to leave Canada…
Was the Lancaster in running condition prior to it being disassembled for it’s shipment to the UK?

I thought her engines were donated to help the CHWM Lancaster. Did they swap those American Build Merlins for RR Merlins once it was restored in the UK?
I’m not sure that the word ‘donated’ was the word that her owners at the time would have used, at one point the idea was to fly her to the UK.

Lancaster KB889
The Lancaster at Duxford still has its engines and she was last flown into retirement in Oshawa ,Ontario Canada in the 1960s.
