After visiting the new section at hendon yesterday I got thinking about the aircraft that were there and why. Anyway I think that you could pretty much take any aircraft and find a reason for it to be there. It may be the first to do something, the first to have something, or on the other side it may be the last to do or have something(make sense?!?)
But is it a true milestone? (you know the sort, the ones in the Wright flyer league)
so….
What would you have in a milestones of flight collection?
You can have any aircraft, it don’t matter if it still exists or not. The only rule is that you have to give a reason for it to be there.
I’ll think and post mine later.

I’d put a Tu-144 in a Milestones of Flight collection, being that it was the first flying SST, and the first to enter revenue-earning service.

what do you think of the Milestones collection at Hendon and do you agree with whats in there?
I’ve sort of already given my opinion, but to answer the two questions-
1. Not much,
2. No!

I have to say, although I’ve not actually been there yet, that based on the published lists of the aircraft that were going into the ‘Milestones’ building, it does all seem kind of a pointless mish-mash.
