I hate to be pedantic, but surely if you were the first person to get airborne in a powered aircraft at 15:35GMT (the original flight was at 10:35EST), then presumably that would still qualify. The timezone issue is irrelevant if you include the appropriate offset 😉

If you were the first person to get airborne in a powered aircraft at the exact moment of the time of the first flight, while being located in the right time zone, you could say you were celebrating the first powered flight of the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight! lol
HOWEVER, IF you were the first person to get airborne in a GLIDER at the exact moment of the time of the first flight, while being located in the right time zone, you would NOT say etc etc

Forgive me for being the ultimate pedant, but shouldn’t that read “today is the anniversary of 99 years of powered flight” or “today is the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight.” 😉

I was forced to – transiting through living room en-route to to the dining room. Eyes drawn to the screen when I heard the Madely words, “and today we’re celebrating 100 years of powered flight with our quiz” 😀
