Everyone needs…

…a girlfriend like mine!

Why??

For my 24th birthday, I was presented with the Airfix BBMF boxed-set from her parents and the Corgi 1/32nd 19 Squadron Spitfire Mk1a from her.

Woohoo! 🙂

If your wife/girlfriend/other half doesn’t seem willing to add to your collection of historic WW2 aircraft models, you’re better off rid of her and finding a better model!! 😉

(Damn, that’s a really bad pun! ;))

There was a VERY lengthy pause when I called the tower using our Speedbird callsign before the ATCO replied. Part of me was just itching to ask for a downwind visual join to the circuit! I’d loved to have seen his face!

If you’d asked for that downwind join Iwould like to have seen the look on his face too, I reckon it would have been a real picture

The ‘Enemy’ hates aircraft and thinks i’m a saddo. She was petrified of flying when we met but Denny Dobson cured her of that! Shw did come to a few airshow but no more thank god.

No Freddie has moved up into the back bedroom, now. The one good thing about petrol, it evaporates reasonably quickly. So provided the models all cleaned up, no problem:D I hope!!!

Are you going to build a hangar in your garden when the Mossie is finished? Or will it dribble fuel on the carpet? 😀

Neilly,

You lucky ba**ard!! Mrs. Galdri would kill me if our livingroom looked like that:D 😀

But I have to say, she is not all bad. She allows me generous time at the airport:D 😀 And now she has even started ASKING to be taken on a hop around the airport:D

You poor misguided man. The lightning was/is awesome. Has to be experienced to be believed mind you I was probably more impressed than I should have been I was only about 16 at the time. I still reckon I’d trade Mrs C for another go though 🙂

This what Mrs Neilly has to put up with. Mosquito Corner, in our living room!:)

There’s also a C 160 on top of the wardrobe. Several gliders on top of the wardrobe in the spare bedroom & a stack of aviation books on top of the fitted cupboard. Add to this bits of Mosquito model, under construction & I think Mrs. Neilly has more than enough to divorce me anytime she wants;)

Cheers,
Neilly

My wife and I made a pact , we would both learn to fly and we would both learn to scuba dive ( her brother is a BSAC instructor ) . I did the dive school bit , unfortunately I have a major phobia about seaweed and slimy stuff so I packed it in , she managed one flight then vomited and didn’t go back . I also spent a load on leathers , gloves , boots and a helmet so we could enjoy runs in the country on the bike , she managed about oooooh 20secs before punching me in the ribs so hard I had to stop and she walked home .

Mine has given up moaning and bought herself a warm jacket and scarf for those cold days at Duxford.

She even runs the desk at Classic Wings, briefs and loads. Can’t get much better than that. Even lent me some money to buy my Vampire.
