Does anyone have photos of Spitfires dogfighting with German aircraft??
I’m looking to add these to my website (http://www.spitfirebuilder.4t.com) and would appreciate the following:
– Battle of Britain movie shots (Spitfires & Buchons)
– Dark Blue World
– Pearl Harbor (Spitfires & Buchon)
– Airshows
Any help would be appreciated and credited.

The Plaistow Pictorial shots were just one of quite a number ‘BoB film’ merchandising items co-ordinated to coincide with the release of the film in September 1969
More likely, I am afraid, that they just made their selection of images from the available stills material.
Out-take material is still commercially available from a company, whose name escapes me, and was the source for the Dark Blue World sequences.

Probably hundreds of thousands of images, not to mention a sh*tload of unused footage in the MGM vaults!
March 2004 can’t come round fast enough!!

When the Battle of Britain was released, a series of photograph posters published by Battle of Britain Prints International was released. This was a pseudonym for Plaistow Pictoral which is still in business. Who knows what lurks in the stores’ cupboard?

Ahhh, I like that second one – an unusual angle on both subjects! 😀
Thanks again, Mark12 🙂

Daz,
Not an easy task for a ‘stills’ photographer confirmed by the dearth of publicity shots.
Here is our ‘old friend’ with the belly aerial in company with Buchon Yellow 5 in both formation and combat and probably taken on the same sortie.
