Book Review

Hi

You can of course, get a copy from your local library, either if it is anywhere in your local county or even through what is called the interloan service, provided by your library.

In other words try before you buy.

thanks for the info… I know someone who goes to a lot of the aerojumbles/fairs so I’ll have to get him to sniff out a reasonably priced copy..

I ummed and ahhed a lot about buying the Bomber bases book, and had a good browse through one while at Hendon once before finally deciding that it was pretty over-priced for what it was.

Airfields of the 8th is a very good book, but it was written 25 years ago (mine was anyway) Incredible to look at some of the airfields such a short time ago and see what they are like now. I can think of one that was substantially complete and is now an open quarry 😡

I have it and it’s good, but my favourite is the 8th one as the layout is better and the maps are clearer. I think the Bomber Command book has been a little crammed. Even though it ain’t small. If your into that sort of thing then it’s worth getting. Keep your eye open at aerojumbles and the like as i got mine new and sealed for £30.
