P61 Black Widow

another question arising from mags under the bed…

Flypast Feb 2001…. P61 rebuild featured in USA with a projected first flight date of 2002… again, anyone any update/info as I don’t remember seeing anythign about this..

thanks for the link.. yep looks like lots still to do.. interesting to see that they’re looking to re-use 80-85% of the original aeroplane.. the museum looks like a worthwhile visit as well.

I think the projected date for completion was a bit optimistic there!The Widow is a complex beast and the last I heard a few months back the fuselage was still in the jigs,with some fitting out of equipment being started on.I haven’t heard anything officially about how long she’ll take,but another couple of years wouldn’t surprise me.
