Collings Corsair down

For the second time in the past 10 years, the 52-year-old aircraft crashed within days of being restored to flight condition.

It looks like there’s not much damage.

Perhaps she does not want to fly?

I’d just like to put a good word in for Dale Snodgrass. I got a chance to see him displaying a Corsair at Sun n’ Fun this year. It was simply the best Corsair display that I have ever seen – just breathtaking. If you ever get the chance to see him, don’t let it pass you by.

As for Hawkers Finest,Yeah i like the Hurricane as well, shame they let themselves go down the pan with nasty old scrappers like the Sea Fury.

Why the go at Sea Furys? or are you another ‘Single Type’ enthusiast? Why slag off what you’re not interested in?

This is a great shame

Following the ditching of this Corsair many thought it wouldnt fly again, and to have this happen so soon must be a real kick in the gut.

A very stock airframe this F4U-5 also saw combat in Korea.

Third time lucky??

Looks like he may have put it onto the grass, but then veered off to his right and finished up on some hard. There seems to be a dirt trail in the background and a lot of dirt debris scattered around the starboard wing.
