I’ve got one of those desktop calendar thingies with tons of warbird (and other vintage) aircraft on it, and today’s aircraft is a North American P-64.
The blurb says:
“Originally built as the NA-68 fighter for Thailand, the North American P-64s were seized by the United States when Thailand was invaded by the Japanese in 1941. Designated the P-64, the six planes became fighter-trainers and utility hacks.”
I’ve never heard of it! The picture looks as though it’s been a very small photo blown up – it looks blocky, if you know what I mean.
Anyone know anything more about them/have pics?

There is one preserved in the EAA Museum in Oshkosh (it’s the one in the colour photo).
Someone has built a replica out of a T-6 and I’ve seen it for sale in Trade-a-plane recently.
