You may have come across this page before but for those who haven’t it has some nice stills taken during the filming of BoB at Duxford, Cambridge & Debden.

If I remember correctly from one of the ‘making of’ books that were issued at the time, the Spanish referred to the R-R Merlin engine as the ‘Mermaid’, which may account for it’s reference accompanying the picture. I will look through my books later and see if I can find the actual sentence and let you know………..:D

I must admit though, I dont get the ‘mermaids for Hienkels’ bit at all.

I think that must be a mistake.
